After thundering into the festival scene back in 2011 with star-studded headliners like Eminem and Muse, Kanrocksas is returning in 2013 with a vengeance. The festival was forced to take a brief hiatus due to renovations to the location, but it’s lost no momentum and will return to Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas, this summer. The event is scheduled to go down on June 28th and 29th, and over 30 phenomenal acts will hit the stage over the weekend, including some of the finest in hip hop, indie rock, and electronica. The headliners for the event this year are Kendrick Lamar, Tiësto, and The Avett Brothers. Tickets for the shows are on sale now.
In order to make up for the missed year, the festival organizers have vowed to make this year’s event even more impressive than 2001. That will be a tall order to fill, considering that the show boasted an incredible lineup that featured acts like The Flaming Lips, The Black Keys, Girl Talk, Primus, Kid Cudi, STS9, OK GO, Arctic Monkeys, Flogging Molly, Bassnectar, and Ellie Goulding. This year, in addition to the headliners, fun. and MGMT have also been announced to perform. The rest of the lineup will be announced in the coming weeks, and there’s plenty of reason to believe that it will feature a hoard of the finest acts in music. One of the coolest parts about this festival is that you can camp out on location, and right now you can book a spot for $25. This is sure to be one of the highlight festivals of the summer, so make sure to purchase 2013 Kanrocksas tickets as soon as possible.
