JVC began its sponsorship of jazz festival in 1984. That year it was the sponsor of festivals in Germany, France, England, and of the legendary Newport Jazz Festival. Over the past twenty years, the JVC Jazz Festivals have been held almost worldwide and have presented over 47 thousand individual musicians, including many legendary performers of the 20th century. Nowadays, the JVC Jazz Festival continues to produce thrilling live music events that maintain the musical heritage of jazz. It also presents many of the new directions in jazz. JVC Jazz Festivals in the USA will start on May 17 in Miami Beach, Florida, and then continue in NY, Chicago, Newport, Concord, CA, and LA on August 19.
