Kenny Wayne Shepherd ably unites the role of bandleader and accompanist. He has been often joined by a stellar lineup of collaborators that included some of the most notable blues artists, like B. King, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, and Hubert Sumlin.

Shepherd’s first three albums mixed blues and blues-rock. The musician’s 1995 debut Ledbetter Heights album sold over a million copies that made it a platinum record. Trouble Isas album was released in 1998 and sold over a million copies. It was nominated for Grammy Award. Live On release followed a year later and also got the Grammy Award. Shepherd’s recent record is called The Place You’re In, in which Kenny took most of the album’s lead vocals for the first time.
