About Levon Helms

Levon Helms played with legendary group The Band and remained with them until their last performance in 1976. After The Band broke-up, Helm started working on various solo projects including four albums: Levon Helm and the RCO All Stars, Levon Helm, American Son, and Levon Helm (once again). In 1983, The Band saw a reunion and Helm joined in. In 1993, Helm wrote his autobiography, This Wheel’s on Fire. Levon Helm came back performing select shows to help him raise money to pay for medical bills as he had been diagnosed with throat cancer.  more
