About Lionel Richie

Lionel Richie joined the soul group The Commodores as lead singer and saxophonist in 1968. They were initially signed with Atlantic Records but switched over to Motown the following year. Their style ranged from funk and disco to easy love ballads. Richie started composing songs for other artists like Kenny Rogers and Diana Ross.  more
