Little Feat Background Information
American band Little Feat was formed by Lowell George in 1969 in LA. The group broke up in 1979 shortly before Lowell’s death. Nine years later, in 1988, they reunited with a series of lead singers replacing Lowell. All incarnations of Little Feat play a mixture of R&B, blues, New Orleans Funk, country, and rock and roll.
In 1993, Fuller departed from Little Feat, stating that the band’s touring required too much time away from his family. In September, the musician was replaced by Shaun Murphy.
more The latter started her career working in Detroit, most notably in theatre. She received a record deal with Rare Earth Records, as a member of a popular duo Meat Loaf. With Shaun, the band’s live performances sound more relaxed, with more free-flowing jams, which other band members seem to prefer. The studio recordings with Shaun did not attract many of the original and second generation of Little Feat fans.
In 1995, Little Feat released “Ain't Had Enough Fun” and in 1998, “Under the Radar”, which was the first record on CMC International. The 2000 Chinese Work Songs, the band’s ever-evolving repertoire grew even more. The album features several original compositions, like “Eula,” “Marginal Creatures,” and “Another Sunday,” and great covers of Phish, Bob Dylan, and The Band songs.
In 2000, Little Feat released Chinese Work Songs, and three years later, in October 2003, they recorded Kickin' It at the Barn on Little Feat’s very own Hot Tomato Records.
