American country music band Lonestar consists of Richie McDonald, Michael Britt, Keech Rainwater, and Dean Sams.
The band began having major country hits in 1995, including the Top 10 hit "Tequila Talkin'." Their first no. 1 hit was the song "No News": it spent 3 weeks at the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart in 1996.

One of Lonestar's most famous songs is "Amazed". It is a beautiful ballad that spent 8 weeks at no. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart. The composition subsequently climbed to the very top of Billboard Hot 100 chart in spring of 2000. It became the first country song to top both the Hot Country Songs and Hot 100 charts since "Islands in the Stream" by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton in 1983.
On May 1, 2006, the band sang the National Anthem at Fenway Park, Bostonm, with the return of Johnny Damon. According to the recent report on CMT's website, the group has parted ways with BNA Records, its record label. Richie McDonald, the band’s lead singer, will be leaving the group at the end of 2007 in search of a solo career. Country singer Josh Gracin, who filled in for Richie McDonald for a show in late 2006, may become a member of the band after McDonald leaves the group at the end of 2007.
