Maze is a popular band that was founded in San Francisco. The members of the band include Frankie Beverly, McKinley "Bug" Williams, Roame Lowry, Carl Wheeler, Larry Kimpel, Vance Taylor, Jubu Smith, and Michael White. The former members of the band were Sam Porter, Robin Duhe, Wayne Thomas, Joe Provost, Ahaguna Sun, Ron Smith, Billy Johnson, Phillip Woo, Wayne "Ziggy" Lindsay, Vernon White and William Bryant.
The band signed a contract with the Capitol records and released their first album titled "LP, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly" in the year 1977. This album was a success and was followed by the release of more albums titled "Golden Time of Day ", "Inspiration", and "Joy and Pain" in 1978, 1979 and 1980 respectively. In 1989 the band released the album "Silky Soul" which was a great hit. This was followed by the release of their next album in 1993 titled "Back to Basics".
The band had got the reputation of being one of the most popular live acts in soul music in America. The band also enjoyed a following in the UK. The last album of the band was released in 2004 and was a compilation of the hit tracks of the band. The album was titled "Greatest Hits".
