Big news emerged from the MGMT camp on Jan. 29, as Rolling Stone confirmed that a third studio album from the band will likely drop this June. Then, on March 4, the duo made even bigger headlines by confirming a forthcoming 2013 North American tour beginning in April. Fans will be looking to get their hands on MGMT tickets for shows in a wide variety of cities including Portland, Maine (4/30), Providence, R.I. (5/1), Grand Rapids, Mich. (5/6), and Stanford, Calif. (5/18), just to name a few. The MGMT tour will begin on April 26 on the campus of Penn State in University Park, Pa., and conclude at Stanford on May 18. A handful of festival appearances have also been revealed, including the Firefly Music Festival (6/21-23), Kanrocksas (6/29), and Bunbury Music Festival (7/23). Our inventory updates daily, so check back often for the chance to experience it all live with MGMT tickets.
In addition to January's news of fresh music in the works, it also was noted that founding members, Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser, recorded the album in 2012 without the live band in an attempt to break from the mold of their past work. MGMT’s last effort was 2010’s Congratulations, while this October will mark six years since their debut album, Oracular Spectacular, struck a chord with audiences thanks to hit singles like “Kids” and “Electric Feel.”
