Motley Crue

Mick Mars was the one who came up with the idea of the bands name. One of his friends once called the band a motley looking one. So Mick decided to paraphrase the expression and there came Motley crue. In fact, the band had later many ideas of how to rename the band by in the end it remained unchanged.

Their first manager was Allan Coffman, who was one of the owners of a contracting company in California. His main aim was the investment of money into the sphere of intertainment to gain some good profits. Their first song was called Stick to Your Guns/Toast of the Town and later they discovered that they already had thousands of fans who started to buy tickets to the concerts that followed. In November 1981 the band released their debut album (Too Fast for Love). They managed to sell more that twenty thousand copies. The manager decided that it would be nice to conquer new fans out of the Unites States and so he organized a trip to Canada. The tickets were swept away in several days as even the canadians had heard og the bands success in Los Angeles. In 1983 Motley Crue changed their management. The new managers were Doug Thaler and Doc McGhee. McGhee is also known to be the manager of the Kiss.

The band won the international recognition after performing the US Festival, the public was amazed by their play. For the following concerts of the Motley Crue it was practically impossible to get or even to book the tickets. Apart from their outstanding live act on stage, they were awesome in chosing their artistic clothes and boots, theie outrageous make-up and shoking drug and alcohol abuse which, strangely, seemed to be liked by their fans. Their unexampled blend of heavy and glam metal was developed into several successful albums (Shout at the Devil, Theatre of Pain and Girls, Girls, Girls).

After finding soberness Motley Crue released their fifth album and since then became even more popular selling the tickets to theit concerts not only in the US, but in other countries as well.
