Twenty years is a huge milestone for any band, and that’s just what’s ahead for English rockers, Muse. Before the anniversary hits in February 2014, the band will continue touring in support of the 2012 release, “The 2nd Law,” which was the group’s sixth studio album, and is a pleasing combination of alternative, progressive rock, and electronic and space rock. Best known for putting on extravagant performances that include lasers, gigantic flames, a floating gigantic light bulb and their own currency soaring above the crowd, the trio will be returning stateside to unleash similar thrills.
After hitting sold out venues in England, France and Italy from June to August, the group will stop back in the U.S. for a series of shows beginning Sept. 3 at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C. Other U.S. performances will include appearances at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. (Sept. 6), Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa. (Sept. 9), Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo. (Sept. 17), and EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah (Sept. 19). A headlining stint at the Austin City Limits Festival on Oct. 4 and 11 will conclude the band’s U.S. trek, and Muse tickets for all performances can be found by browsing through our marketplace.
History is known to repeat itself, and the Brits are set to take over America once again. This time it’s the alternative rock band Muse, who will bring their heralded, high-octane live show back across the pond to light up stadium stages all over North America in support of their latest studio effort, The 2nd Law. The tour launches at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego on January 21st, and Muse tickets officially go on sale to the general public on October 12th, so set your alarms. They’ll be making stops at notable stadiums like the Staples Center (1/23), the United Center (3/4), and Madison Square Garden (4/15) along the way, finally ending at Colisée Pepsi in Quebec City on April 26th.
The 2nd Law is the U.K. power trio’s sixth album, coming on after 2009’s Resistance, which rose all the way to Number 1 in 19 countries across the world and snagged a Grammy and an American Music Award in the process. Earlier this year the single “Survival” was adopted as the official song of the 2012 Olympic Games, and the current single, “Madness,” has jumped to No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Alternative Songs chart, so the band is riding a wave sure to amplify their shows.
The Resistance, Muse's fifth studio album, showed that these rockers are built to last. Following a record as acclaimed as Black Holes and Revelations would be a pressure-filled task for any group, but Muse pulled it off without a hitch. The album won the Grammy for Best Rock Album and spawned several hit singles. One of them was "Uprising," which you can watch a live performance of here:
