The talented singer released her first album in far 1956, after she had joined Rusty Bryant's Carolyn Club Band. Once, when Nancy Wilson was performing in Columbus, Ohio State, she met Cannonball Adderley. He saw her potential and helped the girl to get a manager, John Levy. This nice chance led to the recording contract at Capitol Records.
In 1999, Nancy Wilson was inducted into the Big Band and Jazz Hall of Fame for her great accomplishments in music. Two years later, the singer released her first Christmas recording entitled A Nancy Wilson Christmas, after having moved to Manchester Craftsmen's Guild (MCG) Jazz. In 2005, Wilson was awarded with a Grammy for R.S.V.P. (Rare Songs, Very Personal).
In 2007, Nancy Wilson was awarded her 3rd Grammy in the category of Best Jazz Vocal Album for Turned to Blue (the recording was released on August 22, 2006).
