Treach, Vin Rock, and DJ Kay Gee are back at it again. Together, they’re all better known as the legendary hip hop crew, Naughty by Nature, and the last time we heard from them was when they dropped first album in over a decade, 2011’s “Anthem Inc.” Now, the inimitable trio is set to bring the noise once again as they celebrate the 20th anniversary of their hit single, “Hip Hop Hooray,” with an American tour that will feature new remixes of the classic track. The 2013 “20 Years of Hip Hop Hooray Tour” is set to start on February 14th at the Gramercy Theatre in New York City, which is the day after the 20th anniversary of the album “19 Naughty III.” Tickets for the new shows are on sale now.
There are a total of 13 concerts planned, and along the way the crew will make stops at venues like The Howard Theatre in Washington, D.C., on March 1st; Roxbury in Montreal, BC, on March 28th; and Durham Plaza in Durham, NC, on May 18th. This isn’t the first time that the iconic crew is doing remixes of famous singles, as they changed up the classic tracks “Hip Hop Hooray,” “O.P.P.,” and “Feel Me Flow” on the “Anthem Inc.” album. The tour will include an appearance with Vanilla Ice, and the final show is set to be at “The Roots Picnic” on June first at Festival Pier in Philadelphia, PA. That will surely be a show you don’t want to miss, as the group will be backed by The Roots. Make sure to claim your 2013 Naughty by Nature tickets to witness these hip hop icons live.
