Ozzy Osbourne Background Information
Ozzy Osbourne is the stage name for John Michael Osbourne born in Birmingham on the 3rd of December, 1948. He is lead vocalist for an English band popularly known as Black Sabbath. He is a soloist and the star for “The Osbournes”, a popular reality show. He plays the harmonica and synthesizer. Ozzy Osbourne during his early life suffered from disabilities that made his learning difficult. In time he opted for music. He joined the band Black Sabbath, but in 1979, Ozzy Osbourne was fired, due to his regular abuse of drugs and this sent him to depression.
Another band discovered him and released the soon to be popular ‘Blizzard of Oz' featuring Osbourne. ‘Diary of a mad man' was next and most of the credit for the work was given to Ozzy Osbourne. In 1982, he fell into a fresh round of depression upon learning that his best friend, band mate and guitarist Rhoads, had died in a plane crash. A new guitarist band mate was eventually found and a tribute album was released. Ozzy Osbourne's life in the 80's and 90's was centered on making music and keeping sober. In 1986, he was sued, when the lyrics of his songs caused two teenagers to commit suicide; he was later discharged.
In the 1990's he became a huge success in the commercial world. In 2003 he was involved in a terrible accident and had to be hospitalized, during the period he released a single, a duet with his daughter. The years that followed saw series of events in Ozzy's life including the release of ‘Black Rain' in 2007. Ozzy Osbourne is married and has seven children; He and his wife are one of UK's richest couples. He is known for his drug and alcohol abuse and has been placed on treatment many times.
