Phil Vassar Information

Phil Vassar, an American country music singer and songwriter, was born in Lynchburg, Virginia on May 28, 1964. His specialty is in using a piano as the backing instrument. He enrolled in James Madison University but dropped out in order to pursue his career as a singer.

His first appearance on the country music scene was in the late 1990’s. He started co-writing top singles for artists like Jo Dee Messina, Tim McGraw and Alan Jackson. In 1999, Vassar was signed on to the record label Arista Nasville. His debut album was “Phil Vassar” which was released in 2000. This album featured five hit singles and was certified gold in the U.S. On the whole Phil has fifteen hit singles to his credit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs lists. His hit singles include “In a Real Love” and “Just Another Day in Paradise”.

Vassar married the former Julie Wood in 2002 with whom he co-wrote “The Woman in My Life” and “That’s When I Love You”. But there marriage dissolved when they filed for a divorce in 2007. Vassar also appears as a judge on the television program Nashville Star.

Vassar also owns a piano bar in Tennessee where he used to perform his own songs prior to signing the record deal.

His albums include “Phil Vasaar”, “American Child”, “Shaken Not Stirred”, “Greatest Hits, Vol.1”, and “Prayer of a Common Man” (yet to be released). His singles include “Carlene”, “Six-Pack Summer”, “That’s When I Love You”, “Just Another Day in Paradise”, “Rose Bouquet”, “American Child”, “This Is God”, “Ultimate Love”, “In a Real Love”, “I’ll Take That As a Yes”, “Good Ole Days”, “Last Days of My Life”, “The Woman in My Life”, “This Is My Life” and “Love is a Beautiful Thing”.
