Latin superstar Ricky Martin announced the beginning of his world concert tour that started on November 15 in Mexico City. It continued throughout Latin America, before arriving to the United States and then Europe. VISA Presenta Una Noche Con Ricky Martin (Visa presents One Night Only with Ricky Martin), is the name of the Latin American leg of his tour.

The artist’s decision to begin his long awaited return to the stage in Latin America with first date at Mexico City’s famous Auditorio Nacional was not a surprise to all those fans, who have followed his long and distinguished music career. The same with Martin’s decision to end the first leg of the concert tour in his natal Puerto Rico.

Una Noche Con Ricky Martin, presented by VISA, will take the singer to ten countries in a four-week period. The countries include Mexico, Brazil, Puerto Rico, and others. VISA International is the sponsor of the concerts on the Latin American Tour.

In addition to announcing the long awaited concert tour, Ricky Martin announced that a portion of the value of each ticket would be donated directly to the Ricky Martin Foundation to fund its programs. These programs include People for Children (the singer’s efforts to help fight child trafficking internationally); Life for the Katrina Children Relief Fund (the support to those affected by the Hurricane Katrina); RMF Tsunami Relief Fund (the singer’s partnership with Habitat for Humanity that builds houses for the people affected by Tsunami in Thailand); and many other local ongoing programs not only in Puerto Rico, but throughout Latin America.

Ricky Martin is certainly a superstar. The boy started his career young as a member of the boy band called Menudo. The singer deserves a gold star for his dedication in fighting for the well-being of children worldwide through his Ricky Martin Foundation.
