About Ringo Starr

Richard Starkey (stage name Ringo Starr), became the drummer in the Beatles in the year 1962. The first movie of the group, Beatlemania start being called A Hard Day's Night as these were the words Ringo Starr had said once in the evening after a long session. And even though some treated him as the least prominent member of the band, he still remained one of the most famous musicians of the'60s. Later he would distinguish himself as an occasional singer of the material that was good in nature material. When the group stopped its existence, Ringo Starr made a decision to go solo with two novelty projects. These were his albums Sentimental Journey and Beaucoups of Blues. The first one was characterized by the music critics as the album covering pre-rock standards while the second was a collection of country music.

Even though his career continued to flourish, he still remained the only member of the Beatles to have failed to top the UK singles charts being a solo artist. Ringo Starr is also the only only one from the group to have failed to top the UK album listings as thehighest position earned by him was #7, that was achieved in the United Kingdom with both Ringo and Sentimental Journey.

As far as the recent years are concerned Ringo Starr organized a series of concert tours choosing the name for his project Ringo Starr and His All-Starr Band that consisted of a number of famous rock musicians. The concert format was made of several of Ringos Beatles songs and solo songs, songs of the other musicians with Starr sitting behind the drums.
