Riot Fest may have started as a multi-venue festival in 2005, but the biggest names in alternative, punk and rock all make sure to descend on Humboldt Park for the Chicago edition of the three-day event. There is plenty to know about the three-day festival before you go, including parking and public transportation information, prohibited items, and when to be there.

Humboldt Park Seating Information
Like most music festivals, Riot Fest is general admission, but if you so choose, VIP upgrades may be available for additional fees.

Humboldt Park General Information
All bags will be searched upon entry and the following items are prohibited: weapons, drugs, chairs/lawn furniture, umbrellas, bikes, rollerblades, hard coolers, air horns, and pets. All non-professional cameras will be permitted, but those with a detachable lens will not. Although outside food and drink are prohibited, there are vendors inside the grounds to offer a variety of options for guests. Carnival rides will be operated on a pay-per-ride basis.

Humboldt Park Parking Information
Parking is available surrounding the park, but it is street parking, and may be restricted to permit zoned parking only. If you do choose to drive, make sure that your parking spot is either metered or free parking, not zoned, or chances are you will be ticketed.

Public transportation will likely be the easiest way to get to Humboldt Park, with access to both the bus and train nearby. If you are planning on spending the entire weekend at Riot Fest, there are typically 3-day unlimited ride passes through the CTA that will give you access to both the trains and buses. Bike parking should also be available onsite.

Humboldt Park Gate Times
The gates at Humboldt Park generally open at mid-afternoon on Friday and before noon local time on Saturday and Sunday. All times are subject to change.

Humboldt Park Accessibility
Please be aware that there is no accessible parking available onsite, and it is recommended to be dropped off at the main gates. Upon entering the festival, notify security of any needs or special requests. There is no seating available at Riot Fest, so those that have trouble with walking, standing, or do not have a wheelchair suitable for movement in grass should plan for such in advance. There are paved pathways and ADA accessible restrooms, but the majority of the festival is a grass field.
