Stephanie Lynn Nicks was born the 26th of May 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona and from the tender age of four, Stevie displayed a love for song and dance and would dance and sing at gin mills and with the Beach boys. At age 16, she got her first guitar as a gift and composed her first song “I’ve loved and I’ve lost, lost” and in the year 1965 joined her first band “Changing Times”, a four member folk band. Once Stevie’s music journey began there was no turning back. She teamed with a band called Fritz and later when it disbanded, teamed up with Lindsey and were performing in the Bay area. They went through a lean phase in their career after which Nicks was invited by Mick Fleetwood to join Fleetwood Mac and he great success of their album “Rumors” in 1977 earned Stevie worldwide fame.
Stevie’s own compositions, dreams, I don’t want to know and Gold dust woman became multimillion best sellers while with the Fleetwood Mac Band and took her touring around America and Europe. Stevie’s dream of becoming a solo singer began in the number Bella Donna which was a favorite and helped Stevie on her road to fame. Bella Donna won the title for best selling album by a female singer for two years in a row by the National Association of Recording merchandises. Stevie worked with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers for some time and continued recording solo albums. Stevie left the Fleetwood Mac officially in 19992 after they played the famous song “Don’t stop” for President Clinton’s inauguration ceremony. Stevie has several solo albums to her credit many of which reached platinum and gold status and won her international acclaim. Stevie has performed all over Europe and America and is still a heartthrob and music sensation in the true sense of the term. She still touches hearts not just with her music but with her charitable gestures too.
