Situated on the shores of Lake Michigan, the FirstMerit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island is one of Chicago's most popular destinations for summer concerts. This picturesque open-air amphitheater overlooks the iconic Chicago skyline, making it a perfect location to see your favorite artists. Before purchasing Styx and Foreigner tickets for the June 6 concert, take note of the information in this FirstMerit Bank Pavilion guide.
FirstMerit Bank Pavilion Seating Information
As a wide variety of performers take the stage at FirstMerit Bank Pavilion, there are a few options for seating. Be sure to verify on this page's seating chart what the layout will be for Styx and Foreigner.
The first option offers a general admission floor section for the majority of the venue. There will also be an area for general admission lawn seating behind this area. The 300-level to the left and right of the stage will still be open for reserved seating.
The other layout features a 100-level closest to the stage (101-105). The 200-level follows with sections 201-207, and the final area of reserved seating is the 300-level in sections 301-314. This layout may or may not offer seating in the general admission lawn area, depending on the performer. If a lawn area is included for the concert, it will be listed behind sections 306-309.
All concerts typically offer private boxes, which often include some kind of VIP access or waiter service. Be aware that none of the sections offer covered seating, and that all events occur rain or shine.

Children under the age of 2 are usually offered free admission so long as they sit with an adult.
FirstMerit Bank Pavilion Parking Information
Located on Chicago's museum campus, the FirstMerit Bank Pavilion offers five options for parking. The Adler Planetarium and East Museum lots, Soldier Field North Garage, and Waldron Deck all permit standard-size vehicles only. The South lot, however, is available for large vehicles. The Adler parking lot is considered VIP parking due to its close proximity to the venue.
Please note that parking more than two hours before the concert may incur an extra charge, while certain lots (the North Garage, South lot, and Waldron Deck) usually offer free parking within two hours of the concert. Overnight parking is not permitted in any lots.
This Northerly Island venue is also accessible by Chicago's public transportation system, and free bike parking is available just outside of Gate 1 at the pavilion.
FirstMerit Bank Pavilion Tailgating Information
Tailgating is permitted on the flat, surface lots and on the top level of the Waldron Deck only. No guests can tailgate in the Soldier Field Garage or in the lower levels of the Waldron Deck. Each vehicle may only utilize one space, and gas or propane grills are only allowed on the flat lots. No tents or canopies are allowed to be set up. Tailgating is not allowed after the concert begins, nor is it allowed after the concert ends.
FirstMerit Bank Pavilion Gate Times
Typically, gates for concerts at this venue open one hour to 90 minutes before the concert begins.
