Switchfoot Background Information
Switchfoot is a rock band that had its origins in San Diego, California. The band comprises the following members: Jon Foreman, Tim Foreman, Jerome Fontamillas, Chad Butler, and Drew Shirley. The album was established as "Chin up" by John, Tim and Chad.
The band was signed with Re:think Records in 1997 and it was then that the band got its present name. The band recorded three albums with the label including “The Legend of Chin”, “New Way to Be Human” and “Learning to Breathe”. "Learning to breathe" was the most successful of the three albums and it went gold. It also got a Grammy nomination for the Best Rock Gospel Album. In 2003 the band released the album "The beautiful Letdown" with Columbia Records/Red Ink. The album went double platinum. They got a total of 5 dove award nominations and bagged four awards for the album.
n 2005 the band released the album, "Nothing is Sound". The album climbed to #3. The latest album of the band was "Oh! Gravity" released in 2006. In 2007 the band broke off with the Columbia records. The band bagged the Album of the year award for "Oh! Gravity?. The band is now preparing for the release of their new album in the fall of 2008.
