Some info on T-Pain
T-pain is the stage name of Faheem Najm. He is a well known American hip hop and R&B artist. His style is called “Crunk&B” and has elements of Southern crunk rap as well as R &B.
T-pain started his career with the hit single "I’m sprung". This was released in August 2005. "Rappa Temt Sanga" is his debut album. This was released in November 6, 2005. The songs were a huge hit and sold a record 5 million ring tones. Very soon there were official remixes of the song "I’m sprung 2" featuring Youngboodz and Track daddy. There is also the remix of "I’m N Luv" featuring Pimp C, R.kelly, Too short, and Paul wall. T-pain has also featured on E-40's “U and dat” together with Kandi Girl.
His second album “epiphany” was released in June, 2007. The hit single "bartender" is from this album. The song features Akon. The album has been certified platinum. There are the guest appearances of Shawnna, Cham, Kardinal Offishall, Yung Joc, Jay Lyriq and Akon in the album. The hit track "Buy u a drank" climbed to the top of the charts with a great video. T-pain has even released a song titled "What's your Myspace" for the fans of Myspace. The song features Tay dizm.
T-pain has his own music label titled "nappy boy'. There are several artists who have already signed into it.
T-pain has received several awards and nominations. He was nominated for the 2007 favorite male artist for American music awards. His "bartender" with Akon has been nominated for the Grammy award. His other hit single "good life" has been nominated for the best rap song in the Grammy. He was also nominated for the monster single of the year award in 2007 MTV music video awards. He was nominated for the best R&B artist for the vibe awards as well. T-pain plans to release a new album in the year 2009.
