It’s been over 10 years in the making, but The Black Keys have finally been making waves and taking names in the indie rock world, which includes the bragging rights of GRAMMYs for their work on “Brothers” and “El Camino.” With a live performance unprecedented by any other, the 2013 Black Keys tour is a jam session you don’t want to miss. You can rock alongside Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney with The Black Keys tickets from the Vivid Seats marketplace.
GRAMMY wins are nothing new for Ohio alternative rock sensations, The Black Keys, but they recently added a few more to the mantle after releasing their seventh studio album in December 2011. The beloved rock duo snagged three wins at the 55th annual GRAMMY Awards in February, taking home Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for “Lonely Boy” and won Best Rock Album for “El Camino.” The Black Keys were also nominated for Album of the Year and Record of the Year. Singer and guitarist Dan Auerbach took home another GRAMMY for Producer of the Year for his work on “El Camino” and also on “Locked Down” by Dr. John, “Savage” and “Shakedown.”
The spring will be filled with live performances for The Black Keys, who will be headlining shows with rock veterans The Flaming Lips, as well as making appearances at various music festivals across the country. Instead of jamming out with a few loyal fans in garages like they used to, Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney are now playing for sold-out amphitheaters in front of crowds that can’t get enough. The Black Keys tour stateside will launch on April 28 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. Along the way, they’ll also be hitting up the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pa. (April 30), Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tenn. (May 3), and Charter Amphitheatre in Greenville, S.C. (July 12). Festival stops include the Memphis in May International Festival (May 4), the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival (May 5), and the Napa Valley BottleRock Festival (May 10). Fresh off of the multi-platinum success of their seventh studio album, “El Camino,” which is up for five Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, the Black Keys are ready to hit the pavement once again for a four-date run this spring. This time around, lucky fans will be able in store for a truly unique experience, as the sensational blues rock duo is set to join forces with the inimitable psychedelic rock band known as the Flaming Lips, who will serve as the special guests on the openers. Both bands will light up select stages in late April and early May.
The tour will mark the first U.S. appearances on tap The Black Keys to start the New Year, and they were lucky to enjoy a truly remarkable end to 2012, having played alongside the legendary, Hall of Fame rockers, The Rolling Stones, in December, followed up by a pair of New Year’s Eve concerts in Las Vegas. The Black Keys tickets go on sale on January 11th, and they will be performing at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo., on April 28th; Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh on April 30th, Aaron’s Amphitheatre At Lakewood in Atlanta on May 2nd, and the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on May 3rd.
The Black Keys have had a year to remember. Their 6th studio album, Brothers, went gold, won a slew of Grammys, and was included in multiple top albums of the year lists. Fans of the duo are searching high and low for 2012 The Black Keys tickets with the band announcing their first-ever US arena tour. The tour will make stops in major US cities like Detroit, Chicago, New York, Boston, and Cleveland. Akron, OH's favorite two-man music wrecking crew is presently receiving accolades for their newest studio effort, El Camino. Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney recently debuted one of the album's tracks on the Late Show with David Letterman, playing the catchy blues lament "Gold On The Ceiling."
