The Postal Service Reunites for Coachella, 2013 Tour

After months of rumors, Ben Gibbard and Jimmy Tamborello of The Postal Service finally delighted fans in January with the confirmation of a reunion. The announcement was later complemented with news of the band’s inclusion in the 2013 Coachella Music Festival lineup, with tour dates mixed in as well. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Give Up, which is still The Postal Service’s only album to date, containing hit singles like Such Great Heights and We Will Become Silhouettes.

On April 9, the Grand Sierra Theatre in Reno, Nev., will host the first of a handful of 2013 The Postal Service tour dates, the first since 2003, set to extend over the next several weeks. A pair of shows at the Mondavi Center in Davis, Calif. (4/10) and Madonna Expo Center in San Luis Obispo, Calif. (4/12), will lead right into the band’s appearance at Coachella on April 13. Sandwiched in between the duo’s other Coachella performance on April 20 will be performances at Comerica Theatre in Phoenix (4/18) and the Chelsea Ballroom at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas (4/19). After a few weeks off, The Postal Service will head overseas for shows in the United Kingdom, France, and Spain, before returning stateside in June to make their debut at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center on the 14th.
