The Shins won over the indie rock world when their hits songs, “Caring is Creepy” and “New Slang,” were featured on the Garden State Soundtrack, and ever since then they’ve been one of the most coveted acts around. Nowadays, they’ve reached the rare realm of being both critically-acclaimed and being able to sell out arenas, and thankfully for fans they are taking their show on the road in 2013. The band is set to play a few solo shows beginning in March, and then they will make their way on the festival circuit. Frontman and guitarist James Mercer is set to play a very special solo show at The Republik in Honolulu, HA, on March 5th; and then he will join the band at the White Rabbit in San Antonio, TX, on March 19th; followed by a gig at Tricky Falls in El Paso, TX, on March 20th. Tickets for these shows are on sale now.
From there, the Albuquerque natives will begin a string of concerts at some of the nation’s finest music Festivals. First, they’ll make their way to the inaugural, 2013 BottleRock Napa Valley Festival in Napa, California, on March 22nd. There, they’ll be a part of a stellar lineup that includes headliners Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, and Further. Next up, they’ll travel east to Phoenix, Arizona, to headline the 2013 McDowell Mountain Music Festival on May 10th. The other headliners for the event will include The Roots and Umphrey’s McGee. And finally, they’ll go south to the 2013 Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores, Alabama, from May 17-19th. The headliners here will be Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Kings of Leon, The Roots, and BASSNECTAR. Any one of these shows would be spectacular to see, so make sure to claim your 2013 The Shins tickets today to experience them live.
