Three Days Grace Background Information

Three Days Grace is a 4 member hard rock band from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The band includes members Brad Walst, Barry Stock, Neil Sanderson, and Adam Gontier. Barry Stock joined the band in after the release of their first album 2003 to accompany singer Adam Gontier on guitar. The bands first album, Three Days Grace, was very successful in the United States as well as Canada. The self titled album included the #1 US hits “I Hate (Everything About You)” as well as “Just Like You”, with the latter becoming their first #1 hit in Canada. 2004 was an exciting year for the band when their producer Gavin Brown won a Juno Award for his production on the album and they were nominated at the Juno Awards in the New Group of the Year category. Shortly after losing the Group of the Year Award lead singer Adam Gontier was checked into a rehabilitation center in Toronto for an addiction to Oxycontin. It was in this same rehab center that many of the songs for the bands second album were written.

At the end of March in 2006 the band released their third #1 single “Animal I Have Become”. After months of radio play the band finally released the accompanying album, One-X. In its first week on the market One-X sold 78,000 copies and went to #5 on the Billboard top 200 charts. From their One-X album Three Days Grace had three consecutive #1 singles. In November of 2006 Adam and the rest of the members returned to the rehab center where he previously had been a patient to play an intimate set for students and patients of the center. Also in 2006 Three Days Grace was awarded the Rock Song of the Year at the Billboard awards for the song “Animal I Have Become”.
