The Life of Trace Adkins

Trace Darrell Adkins was born on January 13, 1962 in Sarepta, Louisiana. He is a country music songwriter and singer. His first debut was the single “There’s a Girl in Texas”, in 1996. this song reached the Top 20 on Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks chart. His debut album called “Dreamin’ Out Loud” followed soon after in 1997. This album included his No.1 single “No Thinkin’ Thing”.

At a very early age, Adkins father taughter him to play the guitar. This made him musically inclined. When he was in high school, he joined New Commitments which was a gospel music group. He then studied at Louisiana Tech University. After graduating he went to work at an oil rig. There he met with an accident in which he lost a finger in his left hand. But the finger was reattached so that he could play the guitar. He continued his music career by playing in honky tonk bars in Nashville, Tennessee during the early 1990s. it was at one of these performances in a honky tonk that an executive of Capitol Records noticed him and signed him on to the label.

In 2001, Tracy Adkins was found driving under the influence in Nolensville. He pleaded guilty and was then sentenced to eleven months in prison. He also entered an alcohol rehabilitation program shortly after his album “Chrome” was released.

In 2003, he was inducted into the weekly radio program “Grand Ole Opry”. His albums include “Dreamin’ Out Loud”, “Big Time”, “More..”, “Greatest Hits Collection Volume 1”, “Chrome”, “Comin’ On Strong”, “Songs About Me”, “Dangerous Man”, “Live in Concert” and “American Man: Greatest Hits Vol.2”.
