W.A.S.P. Tickets

W.A.S.P was formed in 1982 in Los Angeles as a four man rock band. The band plays heavy metal and is based in America, their other styles of music include; hard rock, shock rock and Glam metal. The band enjoyed instant success as a result of their surprising live shows that were sex related. Their first Album ‘'Animal' was released in 1984 and caused a lot of controversy. The band experienced series of dropouts and replacement of several of the band members. W.A.S.P's current members are Blackie Lawless; (the only existing member of the group since its foundation), Dong Blair, Mike Duola and Mike Dukpe.

The band has fourteen studio albums, four live albums and two compilations to its credit. W.A.S.P has been involved in tours all around the world including the Europe and United States and they have been widely accepted. During an interview in the 80's, the band said that its names stood for “We are Sex Perverts” but they were quick to deny it and most critics believe they said it just to arouse shock. They have maintained up till date that they are not sure what it means but people give several meanings to it. Their popularity reached its peak in the 80's and they are still making waves up till now.

In October 2007, the band embarked on a tour to celebrate their 15th anniversary and where they played their debut album from start to finish in live performances. W.A.S.P is a talented but controversial band because of their belief on sex issues; they have always been the target of parents that think they promote immorality.
