2013 Yo La Tengo Tour Announced in Support of New Album
It’s always frustrating when one of the best bands around takes years between the release of new material. Thankfully, nearly four years after releasing “Popular Songs,” New Jersey indie rock band Yo La Tengo released their thirteenth studio album, “Fade,” on January 16th. With that news came an even sweeter announcement that the sensational trio was gearing up to hit the pavement and spread the new tunes across the world on a 2013 tour. The tour will begin with a few in-store record store gigs on the West Coast, and then the band will set forth around the world until the end of March. The North American venue shows will start on January 24th at Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro, NC, and they’ll make stops at venues like the Vic Theatre in Chicago (2/1), Boston’s Paradise Rock Club (2/13), and Town Hall in New York City (2/16). After the New York City show, the band is set to fly to Europe and play shows all around the continent until finishing in Dublin, Ireland, on March 23rd. Yo La Tengo’s new material is said take them back to their roots, more in line with the sound of earlier albums like 1997‘s critically-acclaimed “I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One” and 2000’s “And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside Out."
