About The Masters Tournament

Together with the other three majors, a victory in the Masters grants a golf player a number of privileges, which make his golf career more attractive. The winners of Masters Tournament automatically receive a possibility to take part in the other three majors, namely the U.S. Open, The Open Championship, and the PGA Championship for the next five years. It was first given as an award in 1961 and still remains at Augusta National. Starting from 1993, a sterling replica of the Masters Trophy has been given to the winner. The player with the 2nd award has received a Silver Medal since 1951. Starting from 1978, a Silver Salver was also presented as an award for the 2nd place.
