MUSIC IN FOCUS

On Wednesday, February 4th, 2009, the GRAMMY Foundation® will host "Music In Focus," the 11th Annual GRAMMY Foundation Music Preservation Project, with official GRAMMY® photographer and current GRAMMY nominee Danny Clinch, and legendary music photographers Robert Knight and Herman Leonard presenting their work. There will be live performances by artists featured as photographic subjects including young guitar prodigy Tyler Bryant and multi-GRAMMY-winning artist Lucinda Williams, as well as others, including GRAMMY nominated singer/songwriter Sara Bareilles. Television personality Kurt Loder will serve as moderator. Rolling Stone alum and author Ben Fong-Torres is the program's creative consultant. Others in attendance will be Neil Portnow, President/CEO of The Recording Academy® and the GRAMMY Foundation; Jimmy Jam, four-time GRAMMY winner, Chair of The Recording Academy and Board Member of both the GRAMMY Foundation and its sister Foundation MusiCares; and other special guests.

"Music In Focus" ? this year's GRAMMY Foundation Music Preservation Project ? celebrates the creative intersections of music and photography. The program will feature world-renowned music photographers discussing their work, as well as performances from the musicians who have been the photographers? subjects. The discussion will be moderated by Loder to encourage a dialogue about the creative process, and convey behind-the-scenes stories specific to shooting music photography. This show will also highlight the various and invaluable contributions of music photography to the American cultural landscape.
