The Arizona Diamondbacks exploded Tuesday night as they beat the Chicago Cubs 9-2. One night after the Diamondbacks managed just 2 runs that were enough to beat the Cubs Monday, they erupted for a 10 hit performance and 9 runs. Conor Jackson had 3 hits for Arizona as he added his 10th home run of the season along with 3 runs batted in. Orlando Hudson also homered for the Diamondbacks who jumped ahead early and when the Cubs made it close, they put together 6 runs in the 7th and 8th innings. Yusmeiro Petit got the win for the D-Backs as he pitched 5 innings allowing 3 hits, 4 walks and 1 run while striking out three. Arizona will go for a sweep Wednesday night as they take on the Cubs in the series finale.
