Brandon Webb pitched a complete game in route to his MLB leading 16th win as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 3-1. Webb had a shutout going until the Pirates managed a run in the 9th inning and threatened with two runners on. But Webb struck out the final two batters to pick up the win for Arizona. The Diamondbacks got their runs in the 3rd inning from a Chris Young 2-run homer and in the 8th inning from a Conor Jackson RBI double. That was plenty for the Arizona ace as he pitched his third complete game of the year. Webb finished the night allowing nine hits and one run while striking out four. The D-backs will try to sweep the Pirates in the series finale on Wednesday.
