The Atlanta Braves struck first and never looked back Tuesday night as they went on the beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 9-3. After both teams went scoreless through four innings, the Braves put together a 3 run 5th inning, followed by another 3 runs in the 6th. Atlanta had 12 hits as a team including 2 solo home runs from catcher Brian McCann. Yunel Escobar had 3 runs batted in for the Braves and Mark Kotsay and Kelly Johnson had 5 hits combined. Jair Jurrjens improved to 9-4 on the year after pitching 6 innings allowing 5 hits, 3 walks and 1 run while striking out 6. Atlanta will look to take the series Wednesday night in the series finale against the Dodgers.
