Tuesday was not a good day for the Atlanta Braves as first they traded Mark Teixera before the start of their game with the St. Louis Cardinals. The Braves then went on to lose 8-3 to St. Louis in a game that was close up until the 9th inning. Atlanta responded to an early deficit when they scored two runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning to take a 2-1 lead. The score stayed that way until Albert Pujols tied the game with a solo blast in the 6th inning. A throwing error by Corky Miller helped the Cardinals go ahead 3-2 in the 8th inning. Atlanta completely fell apart in the 9th inning when they allowed 5 runs in which only 1 was earned. The Braves wasted a solid performance from starter Jorge Campillo as he pitched 7 innings, allowing 7 hits and 2 runs while striking out 5. The Braves will look to get a spark going when they take on the Cardinals in the 3rd game of the 4 game series Wednesday.
