2007 Baltimore Orioles Season Overview

The current rooster of the Baltimore Orioles has changed over the past months as some new transactions have been made. On June 8, 2007, the team purchased the contract of catcher Alberto Castillo from Triple-A Norfolk. On May 14, outfielder Tike Redman was signed to a Minor League contract. A day earlier, right-handed pitcher Jon Leicester was placed on the 15-day disabled list; and right-handed pitcher Scott Williamson was activated from this list. Right-handed pitcher Sean Tracey was sent outright to Triple-A Norfolk. In the early May, the Baltimore Orioles selected right-handed pitcher Jon Leicester from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned left-handed pitcher Kurt Birkins there. Left-handed pitcher Adam Loewen was placed to the 60-day disabled list.

The current standings of the Baltimore Orioles are the following: the team is currently fifth in the AL East Division with .435 (29 wins versus 35 losses), and is 16-14 at home and 13-21 on the road (as of June 13, 2007).

The present manager of the team is Sam Perlozzo; Tom Trebelhorn is Bench Coach ; Sam Mejias is First Base Coach; Juan Samuel is Third Base Coach; Terry Crowley is Hitting Coach; Leo Mazzone is Pitching Coach; and Dave Trembley is the team's Bullpen Coach.

On June 8, 2007, Ramon Hernandez was placed on the fifteen-day disabled list, retroactive to June 7.
