On June 8, 2007, the team purchased the contract of catcher Alberto Castillo from Triple-A Norfolk. On May 14, outfielder Tike Redman was signed to a Minor League contract. A day earlier, right-handed pitcher Jon Leicester was placed on the 15-day disabled list; and right-handed pitcher Scott Williamson was activated from this list. Right-handed pitcher Sean Tracey was sent outright to Triple-A Norfolk. In the early May, the Baltimore Orioles selected right-handed pitcher Jon Leicester from Triple-A Norfolk and optioned left-handed pitcher Kurt Birkins there. Left-handed pitcher Adam Loewen was placed to the 60-day disabled list.
The current standings of the Baltimore Orioles are the following: the team is currently fifth in the AL East Division with .435 (29 wins versus 35 losses), and is 16-14 at home and 13-21 on the road (as of June 13, 2007).
