Dice K' To Throw Down

There are 37 games left in the season for the Boston Red Sox. The next eight are all road games. This includes a series with divisional rival, and always threatening, NY Yankees. Then they host the dangerous Carlos Quentin and the White Sox. But wait, this is all too forward thinking. One game at a time. That's how it should be looked at, and the Red Sox know it. Currently 4 1/2 games behind the Rays in their own division and 1 1/2 games above Minnesota in the wild card berth, the Red Sox are in a very unstable position. It could turn out good or it could turn out bad. But tonight they face the Baltimore Orioles for the second of a three-game series. After winning last night, the Red Sox turn to their ace:  Daisuke Matsuzaka, "Dice K." If there's anyone's shoulder the Red Sox want the fate of the game to rest on, it's his. Dice K is pitching a spectacular season, 14 wins and 2 losses. And, luckily for the Red Sox, unlike last year where Dice K was sufering from severe fatigue, this year the Diceman "seems to only be getting stronger," according to Sox manager Terry Francona. Tonight, starting at 7:05 p.m. ET, we find out if that's true.
