The Chicago Cubs added to their winning ways Tuesday night, with a 9-6 victory over the San Diego Padres. Alfonso Soriano hit his 14th home run of the year, a 3-run shot in the 8th inning, which turned out to be insurance runs for the Cubs. Mark DeRosa and Geovany Soto also homered for the Cubs, improving their winning streak to nine games. Chicago had 11 hits as a team after an impressive 15 hits the night before. Kerry Wood locked it up for the Cubs with his 16th save of the season.
