This was their second loss amidst a five-match offensive drought. On Wednesday Minnesota won against the team 4-3. In the previous season the team had posted a record of 12-11. The team had finished fourth then. In the 2008 season the team finished with a record of 14-12. Carlos Quentin and Joe Crede at 7 home runs were tied for AL lead.

Jermaine Dye, the right fielder of the team referred to the clubhouse energy when asked as to what keeps the team going. He mentioned that with the team attitude and the talent the team should be doing fine. He said that there was a marked difference in the way the team has been feeling this season. In the previous season the team was struggling and had fallen apart but in this season the mood is upbeat and if they lose a game they try to win the next one.
