Indians lose 9th in a row

The Cleveland Indians jumped to a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning only to watch the Detroit Tigers settle in and go on to win 9-2 Tuesday night.  It was the Indians 9th loss in a row and the struggling Indians managed just 2 hits on the night.  Jhonny Peralta provided early hope for Cleveland with his 14th home run of the season off Justin Verlander.  That was all the Cleveland offense could do as they went on to get blanked by Verlander and the rest of the Tiger pitching staff.  Jeremy Sowers fell to 0-5 on the year after allowing 10 hits and 6 earned runs through 5 2/3 innings.  The Indians bullpen was not much better as Brian Slocum allowed 3 hits and 2 runs through 1 1/3 innings.  Cleveland will look to stop the streak Wednesday night as they take on the Tigers in the short 2 game series finale.
