The Cleveland Indians lost a wild one Wednesday night as they fell 14-12 to the Detroit Tigers in 13 innings. In a game that had 26 total runs and 41 hits, it was Detroit that came out with the win after the smoke cleared. Cleveland jumped to a 8-1 lead behind starter Cliff Lee but the Tigers fought their way back all game as they eventually took the lead in the 9th inning. But the Indians would not go down without a fight as they tied the game at 12 to send it to extra innings. Detroit was able to score two runs in the 13th inning, after both teams went scoreless for three straight innings. In a game that featured no pitching, one Indian had a huge night. Kelly Shoppach had five extra basehits including 3 doubles and 2 home runs, while driving in three. The Indians will look to rebound Thursday as they finish of the series with the Tigers befored heading to Minnesota on Friday to take on the Twins.
