Thames wakes Tigers

Marcus Thames woke up the Detroit Tigers as they finally put some offense together with a 6-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels Wednesday night. Thames had a monster game, hitting two of home runs and driving in four. All of the Detroit Tigers seemed to hear Thame’s wake up call as the team put together 11 hits and got another solid game from Armando Galarraga. The right hander came two outs away from his first complete game, in which Todd Jones got the final two outs. The Tigers were able to avoid the sweep, as the Angels have been one of the hottest teams in the MLB. Joe Saunders took the loss; he is 8-2 on the year.
