The Tigers six game winning streak was snapped Tuesday, by the Twins. Starter Nate Robertson ran into trouble in the fourth inning when Twins DH Craig Monroe launched a three run homer off of him to give Minnesota a 3-1 lead. The Tigers would battle back, however. Down 6-1 after five, the Tigers would add two in the sixth thanks to a home run by Marcus Thames and an RBI double by Gary Sheffield, in the eighth, but that would be it as the Tigers were ineffective against Twins closer Joe Nathan who came on for his 23rd save.
