Tigers cruise past Royals

The Detroit Tigers are the hottest team in baseball, and they continued that Tuesday night with a 7-1 win over the Kansas City Royals.  Kenny Rogers pitched six solid innings allowing just 4 hits and 1 run while striking out 4.  He did not return after the rain delay that was over 2 hours before the start of the 7th inning.  Placido Polanco had 3 runs, 2 hits and 3 RBI including his 4th home run of the year.  Magglio Ordonez added 3 hits and and 2 runs batted in for Detroit as they are now 27-13 in their last 40 games.  Detroit will look to finish their sweep of the Royals when they take them on in the series finale on Wednesday.
