The Florida Marlins won 4-0 Tuesday night as they got an outstanding performance from their pitching staff as starter Rick VandenHurk and three relievers combined for a one hitter against the Atlanta Braves. VandenHurk pitched 5 innings allowing 0 hits and 0 runs with 5 walks and 7 strikeouts before handing the game over to his bullpen. Chipper Jones got a single off Florida reliever Joe Nelson, who was able to shut down the Braves next three batters. Renyel Pinto and Matt Lindstrom finished the one hit performance as they combined for 3 perfect innings. The Marlins managed just 4 hits of their own, however one was a 3 run blast from Mike Jacobs in the bottom of the 4th inning, which was more than enough for the Florida pitching staff. The Marlins will look to capture the rubber match on Wednesday night against the Braves.
