Despite a great number of transactions that the Florida Marlins have made so far, they are currently fourth in their division. With .478 (32 wins versus 35 losses) they are only 14-19 at home and 18-16 on the road (as of June 16, 2007).
On May 19, 2007, the Florida Marlins placed right-handed pitcher Ricky Nolasco on the fifteen-day disabled list, retroactive to May 18, with elbow inflammation. The Marlins also selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Justin Miller from Triple-A Albuquerque and transferred right-handed pitcher Jose Garcia to sixty-day DL. Three days later, outfielder John Gall cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Albuquerque. On May 31, the team activated right-handed pitcher Henry Owens from the fifteen-day DL and optioned right-handed pitcher Lee Gardner to Triple-A Albuquerque. The Marlins also acquired right-handed pitcher Armando Benitez and cash from the Giants for right-handed pitcher Randy Messenger.
On June 13, 2007, the Marlins placed right-handed pitcher Henry Owens on the fifteen-day disabled list, retroactive to June 9, with shoulder inflammation. Right-handed pitcher Lee Gardner was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque. The team also claimed left-handed pitcher Chris Seddon from Tampa Bay and optioned him to Double-A Carolina.
