The Tigers beat the Royals 7-1 Tuesday night behind strong pitching and their mighty offense which has awoken. The Royals matched the Tigers run in the first inning but they had no answer for the rest of the game. The Tigers went ahed in the 3rd inning for good as they added 3 runs in the 5th and 2 more in the 9th. Mark Grudzielanek had 3 hits for the Royals including the lone RBI and Esteban German added 2 hits of his own but that was not nearly enough to stop the surging Tigers. Kyle Davies took the loss as he lasted just 4 innings allowing 5 hits and 2 runs. The Royals will look to avoid the sweep as they take on the Tigers in the series finale on Wednesday.
