Dodgers Top Houston in 11

Despite their bullpen blowing a five run lead, the Los Angeles Dodgers were able to top the Houston Astros thanks to a home run by Jeff Kent in the top of the 11th inning. Everything seemed to be going the Dodgers way early who had a six run lead heading into the bottom of the sixth. That’s when starter Clayton Kershaw ran into trouble. Kershaw was only able to retire two batters before being lifted for Brian Falkenborg, who promptly gave up a three run bomb to Ty Wiggington. Then, in the bottom of the seventh Carlos Lee tied the game with a double off Dodger’s reliever Jonathan Broxton. The game stayed deadlocked until the top of the 11th with one out when Jeff Kent hit a solo shot to left to give the Dodgers the lead. Takashi Saito came on to earn his 13th save of the season.
