Chad Billingsley pitched his first career complete game shutout as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the San Francisco Giants 4-0 Wednesday night. Billingsley allowed just 5 hits and struck out 8, as the Dodgers moved one game over .500. Los Angeles gave instant support to their young pitcher as they scored in the 1st inning thanks to a Russell Martin RBI single. The Dodgers would give Billingsley plenty of more support, as they tacked on 3 runs in the 3rd inning to make the score 4-0. That would be the final score as the Giants had no answer for Billingsley, but did have a chance to break up the shutout in the 9th inning. Andre Ethier threw out Jose Castillo at home plate to end the game and wrap up the shutout. The Dodgers will welcome the Arizona Diamondbacks for a big four game series that starts on Thursday.
