Phillies explode in 9th, rally to win

The Philadelphia Phillies watched Johan Santana dominate them for 8 innings, but once the New York Mets starter didn't come out in the 9th inning, things quickly changed.  The Phillies put up a 6 run ninth inning to come back and defeat the Mets 8-6. Santana pitched extremely well as he allowed just 8 hits and 2 runs while striking out 4 and handing over a 5-2 lead to the bullpen with only one inning left to play. The Mets bullpen could not close it out as the three different relievers combined to allow the 6 run rally from Philadelphia.  So Taguchi and Jimmy Rollins each had two run doubles in the inning as the Phillies jumped ahead of the Mets in the NL East with Tuesday's come from behind victory.  The teams will meet again for game 2 of the series Wednesday night.
